The evolution of UI

People bicker and complain. One of the harshest realities about the higher end of evolution is the tendency to express emotion. For years now, people have pointed out how pathetic the Swing's default UI was. They've often disgraced the responsiveness of these applications. But, now when people speculate a near-end scenario for desktop applications, why is it that suddenly 2D graphics in Java applications are beginning to improve.

If the recent hype about JavaFX was not enough, in came PulpCore, a nifty little API built to boost Java's status amongst other RIA technologies pushing the limits for 2D graphics rendering on browsers. It honestly puts JavaFX to shame with loading and rendering speeds much faster than anything I've ever seen.
